Arameisk-Syrianska

Ground: Brunna Idrottsplats

Visits: 1

Date: 1st July 2017

Match: Arameisk-Syrianska - Enskede  1-2  (Division 1 Norra)

Attendance: 220

With no games being available for me in northern Sweden/Finland (or the Stockholm area for that matter) Friday was used as a day of travelling only. After using four buses but above all a flight from Luleå to Stockholm I arrived at my hotel in central Stockholm around 16.30 on Friday afternoon. My sixth and final game on this tour was Arameisk-Syrianska v Enskede at Brunna IP on Saturday afternoon. It means I have finally re-completed Division 1 Norra and thereby the top three divisions in Sweden. In 2015 and 2016 I missed 1-2 grounds but that won´t matter now! Being very tired from all my travelling I slept late on Saturday morning. Kick-off at Brunna IP was not until 16.00 and I decided to visit the City Hall (Stadshuset) as well as the Natural History museum. The most interesting experience was the movie (45 min.) “The beautiful planet” which was shot from the International Space Station.

Brunna IP is situated in Hallunda, southern suburb of Stockholm. From Stockholm C it takes 35 minutes by metro to reach Hallunda and the ground is then a further 10-12 minutes by foot. Arameisk-Syrianska were promoted as champions of Division 2 Norra Svealand at the end of last season. Before the 2017 season a new covered stand with around 500 seats was erected on the east side of the ground. This new stand makes the ground look quite alright and as I was expecting a really crap ground with running tracks I was actually positively surprised. Arameisk-Syrianska have started the season quite well and are currently fifth in the table. Enskede, who I visited a week ago, are bottom but in the 11th minute they took the lead at Brunna IP, 0-1 from the penalty spot. In the second half Arameisk-Syrianska equalized, also from the penalty spot, and the home team then pressed on for a winner. Enskede had a player sent off in the 66th minute but still managed to score in the 86th minute. Not exactly fair but you have to take your chances. In this Enskede were helped by the goalkeeper making a howler though. In the 92nd minute the same goalkeeper was sent off and Enskede hold on to three points. My trip is coming to an end but after seven nights, at six different hotels, away from home I am looking forward to returning home tomorrow!
