BlackburnGround: Ewood Park Visits: 1 Date: 22nd March 2008 Match: Blackburn - Wigan 3-1 (Premier League) Attendance: 23 541
Day two of my trip and a new derby, this time the Lancashire derby between Blackburn and Wigan. Ewood Park is not the easiest of grounds to get to, train from Manchester Victoria and then a 10 minute bus ride (45 minutes on the way back, the traffic was horrible!) towards Darwen. The crowd was a bit higher than I expected and with two red cards, a penalty, a Swedish international seriuosly injured and four goals there were plenty of action for the fans to get excited about. Blackburn scored two goals with a man short and I was impressed (especially by Roque Santa Cruz.) The weather was bitterly cold and it was a bit strange to see snow one minute, sunshine the next and then more snow. Ewood Park is a nice ground and as I eventually made it back to my hotel in Manchester I was pleased to be able to tick off yet another Premiership ground.
