HaningeGround: Torvalla Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 19th June 2022 Match: IFK Haninge - Team TG 2-0 (Ettan Norra) Attendance: 200 There was a number of fixtures in the Stockholm area to choose from on Sunday afternoon. IFK Haninge hosted Team TG (Umeå) at 3pm and with Torvalla IP being one of my three missing grounds in Division 1 Norra it was an easy choice for me. I started the day by visiting Hammarby IP (Kanalplan) where I found an open gate where I could sneak in. Tomorrow evening I will be back for Hammarby TFF v Täby FK in Division 1 Norra and that is something I am looking forward to. At noon I was meeting up with my friend Håkan for lunch. He lives in Liljeholmen and I have stayed at his place several times in the past. We had a lot to talk about and he then followed me to Årstadal tram station where we said goodbye. I was to be joined at Torvalla IP with another friend of mine, Daniel, and our coordinated planning worked perfectly. He was already on the tram I boarded and at Årstaberg we changed to a commuter train bringing us to Handen station. From the station it was then around 20 minutes by foot to Torvalla IP. Running tracks, an artificial pitch and only one small stand, to be honest Torvalla IP is not the most exciting ground to visit for a groundhopper. I was hoping for an entertaining match though and with the visitors being rock bottom I would have been surprised if this game would end goalless. IFK Haninge were clearly the better team and in the 20th minute it was 1-0. To get ready for the 2nd half Daniel and I had ice-cream at the break. Team TG could use something to get extra energy as well but that was apparently not the case. In the 2nd half they conceded again and had to replace their goalkeeper as well. In front of around 200 spectators at Torvalla IP it ended 2-0 to IFK Haninge. ![]() Torvalla IP East Stand East Stand Players and officials entering Kick-off South End View of play View of play West side North End East Stand |
