Växjö BKGround: Sportfältet Teleborg Visits: 1 Date: 6th May 2023 Match: Växjö BK - Färjestaden 1-1 (Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland) Attendance: 80 Last year I, for the first time, completed Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland. When league allocations for 2023 were confirmed newly promoted Växjö BK were placed in this league though meaning I needed to visit the Teleborg area of Växjö in order to re-complete the league. Växjö BK play at Sportfältet Teleborg and the ground has an artificial pitch meaning no risk of the match being moved. Kick-off was at 13.00 and around 10.45 I left Kristianstad. On my way to Växjö I saw plenty of military vehicles, the ongoing Aurora military exercise in southern Sweden is the biggest in Sweden for 30 years so no surprise seeing parts of the army. Anyway, at 12.15 I parked my car outside the ground and once outside it was sunny but very windy and it was quite chilly. Sportfältet Teleborg has a covered main stand with around 250 seats. This stand was in the shade though and for most of the game I was actually on the far side where it was slightly warmer. Växjö BK are second from bottom and games like the one today are the ones they really need to win. Despite a few early chances for Växjö BK it was the visitors who scored the first goal but before half-time it was 1-1. The second half was a scrappy affair with less chances than the first 45 minutes and when Växjö BK had a player sent off it was even more difficult for them to find the winning goal. Färjestaden hit the post in the 4th minute of stoppage time but it ended 1-1. Växjö BK remain in the relegation zone and need to find a way to score goals. I left Växjö with a completed league and the plan is to complete another one next weekend! ![]() Club badge South side South Stand South Stand West End North side East End Players and officials entering Kick-off View of play South Stand South Stand View of play View of play North side North side East End |
