VenestadGround: Vildsvinsvallen Visits: 1 Date: 4th May 2022 Match: Venestad - Degeberga 1-7 (Division 6 Skåne Nordöstra B) Attendance: 60 Venestad is situated 22 minutes from where I live and when I noticed they were playing Degeberga on Wednesday evening I decided to pay Vildsvinsvallen a visit. The ground used to be called Venestads IP but wild boars (vildsvin in Swedish) have dug up/destroyed the pitch so many times the club decided to change the name of the ground. Venestad are bottom of the table and after four rounds of Division 6 Skåne Nordöstra B they have still not scored. In their game last weekend they had only 12 players and it is obvious there is a risk of the club withdrawing from the league. Kick-off was at 18.30 and 15 minutes prior to kick-off I parked my car in the nice surroundings in Venestad. Degeberga is of course where I grew up and upon entering I could say hello to a lot of familiar faces. As the game started I noticed Venestad only had 11 players available tonight and it was strange to see an empty dug-out. As expected the young team from Degeberga was far better than Venestad and at half-time it was 0-4 on the score-board. In the second half Degeberga dominated as well but missed a lot of clear chances. 15 minutes from the end Venestad actually scored and when the final whistle was blown it was 7-1 to the visitors. The attendance was 60 (head count) and around 40 of those were from Degeberga. Venestad might not survive the season but I enjoyed my visit and hopefully the club will find some additional players. ![]() Nice surroundings! An old sign!
