VittskövleGround: Möllebacken Visits: 1 Date: 28th August 2021 Match: Vittskövle - Degeberga 3-1 (Division 6 Skåne Nordöstra B) Attendance: 150 A lot of rain was forecasted for Saturday but when one of the great rivalries from my youth, Vittskövle v Degeberga, was scheduled for today staying at home was not an option. The villages are only a few kilometres apart and since the two clubs have been in different divisions for nine years there was an extra big interest this time around. Vittskövle play at Möllekullen which is yet another nice ground in the Skåne countryside. I arrived 30 minutes prior to kick-off and as the game got underway there was, for this level, a big crowd inside Möllekullen. It was free entrance for those under 16 but 145 paying spectators is really impressive for Division 6. Vittskövle are 2nd in the table but if they win their game in hand they will go top. In the first half Vittskövle was by far the better team and 2-0 was a fair scoreline at half-time. This was a proper derby with a lot of fighting and a few naughty tackles but it never got out of hand. The rain obviously made it tempting to make gliding tackles but on more than one occasion the ball was missed though. Vittskövle made it 3-0 but Degeberga never gave up and with 15 minutes to go they pulled a goal back. Both teams then had good chances to score but the end result was 3-1 and Vittskövle march on towards the top. I really enjoyed my re-visit to Möllekullen and there is definitely something extra with these rural village derbies! ![]() South side South side Kick-off ![]() West End ![]() Watching from their cars North side North side View of play North side North side East End View of play South side South side South side South side View of play 3-1 |
