When the season started I had four grounds left to visit in Division 3 Södra Götaland. Newly promoted Åkarp IF are currently top of the table and with Åkarp hosting second placed Lödde this afternoon I knew I had an interesting game ahead of me as I completed the southernmost Division 3-league in Sweden. Åkarp is situated just outside Malmö and prior to going to Åkarps IP I dropped off my partner at Malmö´s largest shopping centre. She is as interested in football as I am in shopping and this was a perfect solution! Anyway, I arrived at Åkarps IP with 45 minutes to spare and it was soon obvious this was to be a windy experience. The only proper stand is a small wooden stand in the west side of the ground but for this level that is more than enough. The top of the table clash attracted a decent attendance and plenty of fans had made the short journey from Löddeköpinge.

In the first half Lödde were by far the better team and created several really good chance. To the frustration of the couple sitting behind me Lödde somehow failed to score though. Early on in the second half Lödde finally scored but a few minutes later Åkarp equalized. For being in Division 3 this was an entertaining and exciting game and when Lödde scored the winning goal justice was served as well. Lödde are now top of the table but with only a few points separating teams at the top it will be an interesting climax to the season.
