My plans for this weekend was to go abroad but my flight back home was cancelled. The re-booked flight meant I wouldn´t be back home until Tuesday and I decided to stay at home instead. Looking at local options I discovered Askeröd were hosting Lunds FF in Division 5 Skåne Sydvästra at 7pm and this was to be my match this evening. Askeröd is situated in the countryside south of Hörby and from Kristianstad it is only 50 minutes by car. It has been warm recently but this evening it was quite cold and I brought a pullover as well as my summer coat. Askeröds IP is apparently called Kyavallen nowadays and the ground is surrounded by fields. As I stepped out of my car I realised it was a good idea having brought my coat!

Askeröd were promoted from division 6 at the end of last season but 2026 has not been a good year for them. They are currently bottom of the table and seven points from a relegation play-off spot. With Lunds FF being third I expected an easy victory for the away team and that was also to be the case. It was “only” 1-3 at half-time and with 10 minutes to go it was 1-4. In the closing stages Askeröd completely ran out of energy though and Lunds FF could score three more goals to win 7-1.
