BK Astrio was founded in 1933 and the club is based in Söndrum, in the western outskirts of Halmstad. The founding members were impressed by the Austrian team Austria Vienna as they visited Halmstad and played against Halmstads BK. They thought Astrio was unique and decided to register their team under that name. In the early 90s BK Astrio played in the third tier for a few seasons but has since then they have mostly played at level 5 and 6. Last year the club was promoted to Division 2 though meaning I was missing one ground in Division 2 Västra Götaland, one of six level 4-leagues in Sweden.

The last Sunday in August Astrio was hosting Höganäs and I decided that was the fixture when I would re-complete this league. Kick-off was at 14.00 and an hour prior to kick-off I parked my car outside Söndrums IP. There were many activities going on and it was obvious Astrio is a club with plenty of youth teams. The south side of the main pitch is elevated and there is also a small stand on this side of the ground. Around 120 spectators turned up for this match and most of them were pleased with what they witnessed on the pitch. Astrio scored early on from a free-kick and at half-time they were deservedly 1-0 up. Astrio had most of the chances in the 2nd half as well but Höganäs never gave up and really wanted that equalizer. In the 86th minute the best player on the pitch, Emil Håkansson, scored his 2nd goal of the day to give Astrio all three points. Unlike yesterday the weather in Halmstad was quite nice and on the 2 hour-drive back home I could look back on a great day out as I completed yet another league.
