Blåningsmåla/EringsbodaGround: Åsjövallen Visits: 1 Date: 14th September 2025 Match: Blåningsmåla/Eringsboda - Belganet-Hallabro 5-0 (Division 6 Blekinge) Attendance: 60 Blåningsmåla IF and Eringsboda SK merged in 2009 and 2019 was the last time Blåningsmåla/Eringsboda fielded a team in the league. Situated in rural northern Blekinge the population is declining and so many beautiful grounds/idrottsplatser are not in use anymore. When Sillhövda AIK, from Holmsjö, wanted to field a youth team they decided to revive the nearby club and in 2025 Blåningsmåla/Eringsboda have been playing in Division 6 Blekinge. Gökvallen in Blåningsmåla has not been maintained and Åsjövallen in Eringsboda has been the venue for the revived clubs home games. Not knowing if the club will be playing at Åsjövallen next season I decided to visit their penultimate home game this season. Kick-off was at 11am and 30 minutes prior to kick-off I drove down the winding narrow road leading to Åsjövallen. I parked my car only a few metres from the pitch and what a lovely place Åsjövallen turned out to be.The pitch looked perfect and one of the corner flags was only 20 m from the lake. Belganet-Hallabro are 2nd from bottom and Blåningsmåla/Eringsboda 3rd (promotion play-off spot) and I expected an easy ride for the hosts. That was not to be the case and it was Belganet-Hallabro who had several really good chances to score early on. One of the shots hit the bar and went into the lake. The designated ball collector couldn´t reach the ball though and it drifted more than 100 m out. I found this quite interesting and told him about Gay Meadow in Shrewsbury but no boats were used in Eringsboda. The ball collector changed to swim clothes and simply swimmed out to collect the ball. In my opinion the obvious “Man of the Match”! Despite hitting the bar 5 times and the posts 3 times Belganet-Hallabro lost 5-0. I don´t think I have ever been to a match where the result has been so “wrong” when looking at chances created. A very nice day out for me and I am looking forward to my next visit to Blekinge!
