The first weekend of April was the opening weekend for Division 3 to 6 in southern Sweden. It was not until Saturday morning I decided where to go and in the end I played it safe and went to Dalby IP for Dalby v Trollenäs in Division 5 Skåne Sydvästra. Dalby IP has an artificial pitch and my other option was a match played on a grass pitch. In the past I have fully trusted the official websites but upon arrival the game (on a grass pitch) was still played on a nearby artificial pitch. Anyway, Dalby is an hour by car for me and once out of my car I could feel the chilly wind but thankfully I had brought my winter coat as “back-up”. Next to Dalby IP there is a windmill and this is probably the most interesting feature at the ground.

In the 90s a friend of mine played for Trollenäs and I went to quit a few of their games back then. Nowadays I don´t have any connections to Trollenäs but I still want them to do well. In front of around 60 spectators Dalby started the better team though and after 25 minutes it was 2-0 to the home team. At half-time I had a cup of coffee to warm me up and it was fascinating it could be that chilly when the sun was out. Anyway, the 2nd half was quite boring but in the last minute Dalby scored again to win 3-0. This was my 825th ground visit and hopefully the next ones will be on a grass pitch!
