Having to work with exams etc I was at first not planning on any live football this weekend. When I noticed Ekeby were hosting Lödde at Bruksvallen, my only remaining ground in Division 4 Skåne Västra, I changed my mind though. As I set off for Ekeby, situated between Landskrona and Helsingborg, it was a really nice and warm day in southern Sweden and after 85 minutes of driving I parked my car outside the ground. Ekeby had a “Family Day” today and apart from a free entrance there were also plenty of activities for children. My main activity was the match and thankfully there were some big trees in the west side of Bruksvallen giving visitors the opportunity to watch without getting burnt by the sun. Ekeby GIF were founded in 1922 as Skromberga GIF but in 2009 the club changed its name to Ekeby GIF. Last season the club were promoted from division 5 but it has been a difficult start for them and they are currently bottom of the table.

Lödde played in division 3 last season and this afternoon they were clearly the better team. 0-1 at half-time and early on in the 2nd half they scored twice to take a 3-0 lead. Ekeby pulled a goal back from the penalty spot and it ended 1-3 at Bruksvallen. There are three Division 4-leagues in Skåne and I am now only missing Albäcksvallen in Trelleborg, the home of FC City Trelleborg in Division 4 Skåne Södra.
