FA 2000 2

Ground: Jens Jessens Vej (kunst)

Visits: 1

Date: 3rd August 2024

Match: FA 2000 - Sundby BK  1-0  (3. Division)

Attendance: 200

I was supposed to go to Jylland this weekend where I would visit Holstebro and Aarhus Fremad. Car problems meant I had to change my plans though and I had to look at an option reachable without a car. With the local leagues in Sweden re-starting next weekend I looked at Denmark and I decided to visit FA 2000 v Sundby BK in 3. Division at Jens Jessens Vej in Copenhagen. FA 2000 normally play at Frederiksberg Stadion but with the pitch being relaid FA 2000 will play their opening home matches this season at the nearby Jens Jessens Vej. At 10.39 I boarded a local bus and via train from Kristianstad C to Copenhagen airport, where I changed to the metro, I was at the ground at 13.50. Jens Jessens Vej is a football centre with lots of artificial pitches and this warm Saturday there was a youth tournament being held on the many pitches. The pitch next to the entrance is used for league matches and in Københavnsserien both FA 2000 2 and Frederiksberg BK are playing their matches on this pitch. There is no proper stand at Jens Jessens Vej but the wooden stair in the north end actually provided good viewing of the action.

It was free entrance and I estimate around 200 spectators were present. It was actually Sundby BK´s first ever match at this level (4) and they brought a decent number of fans. The actual match was not too exciting and at half-time it was 0-0. In the 2nd half FA 2000 scored to make it 1-0. Sundby BK had a few good chances to equalise but the opening match of the season ended 1-0 to FA 2000. Coming weekend I will go to matches in Denmark and Sweden but the trip to Jylland will have to wait.
