In early 2008 Fremad Amager merged with some other clubs and formed FC Amager. FC Amager started the 2008/2009 in 1. Divisionen but the club went under in December 2008 and was dissolved. Fremad Amager started all over in the lower leagues and will continue to play at Sundby Idrætspark.
