Match: Glostrup - Fredensborg  1-1  (Sjœllandsserien, pulje 1)

Attendance: 120

Going through my options for the weekend I noticed it was possible to do a double in Denmark on Saturday afternoon. At noon Glostrup was hosting Fredensborg is Sjællandsserien (level 5) and at 14.15 Husum hosted Union in Danmarksserien (level 4). It is the first time I am watching football below level 3 in Denmark but this double was something I couldn´t miss out on. At 9am I left Kristianstad and once at the bridge I was pleased to find out the Danish border control had no queues at all. Last time I had to wait 45 minutes making it a bit tricky to figure out how long the trip will take. Anyway, I parked my car outside Glostrup Idrætspark at 10.45 and found an open gate where I could sneak in. Glostrup Idrætspark has a covered main stand with around 400 seats and since the ground is also used for athletics there are running tracks. In total the capacity is around 4,000 but for games in Sjællandsserien normally only around 100 show up. Glostrup Fodbold Klub was formed in 2003 as a merger between Glostrup IF 32, Glostrup IC and Hvissinge FC. In 2009 the club was merged with Albertslund IF to form Boldklubberne Glostrup Albertslund. This merger was dissolved in 2015, and Glostrup FK reappeared in Sjællandsserien.

A few years ago, while in 2. Division, I visited Fredensborg but since then they have been relegated twice and they are now back in Sjællandsserien. This match was in round 2 of pulje 1 and with both teams losing last weekend it was important to get at least a point. Glostrup took the lead early on and when the visitors had a player sent off in the 40th minute most of us present were convinced the home team would take all three points. That was not to be the case though. The second half was an even affair and towards the end Fredensborg really pressed on for an equalizer and in the 89th minute they managed to score and the game ended 1-1. In my opinion that was a fair result and both clubs have to wait for their first victory of the season. After the final whistle I hurried to my car and set off for Husumparken.
