2025/26 is the first ever season for Hørsholm-Usserød in a national league. They finished 2nd in the eastern promotion group of Danmarksserien and then managed to win the play-off against the runner-up (ASA) from the western promotion group. I was aiming for that play-off game but since the pitch at Hørsholm Idrætspark was a bit bumpy the game was moved to the artificial B-pitch. I am not crossing the Öresund for b-pitches and went elsewhere. The game this Saturday was the second home game of the season and being assured it was on the main “Stadion” pitch I set off around 10am. Lots of German/Dutch holidaymakers with caravans/campers etc going back home meant heavy traffic on the Öresund bridge, normally it is not too bad on a Saturday morning. With Hørsholm being north of Copenhagen I had to use the entire ring road around the Danish capital and traffic was quite heavy here as well. At noon I was finally outside the ground but it took me a while to find a spot for my car. 40-45 minutes prior to kick-off I could then finally enter Hørsholm Idrætspark.

The weather was glorious and with the only stand being fully exposed to the sun I watched most of the game from the other side where the trees provided a nice shade. Today's encounter on the pitch was Hørsholm-Usserød v FA 2000 and from the start it was clear this was going to be a memorable day for the around 200 home fans present. By the half-time break it was 3-0 to the hosts. It was 4-0 before FA 2000 could finally score. In stoppage time Hørsholm-Usserød scored again to win 5-1. A great afternoon for the newly promoted team but FA 2000 really needs to improve to avoid relegation. With much less traffic the journey back home went smoothly and I have now been to 70 Danish grounds.
