KågerödGround: Brahevallen Visits: 1 Date: 28th September 2024 Match: Kågeröd - Svalöv 2-0 (Division 5 Skåne Västra) Attendance: 300 This weekend was the penultimate weekend in the local leagues and while some matches are dead rubbers Kågeröd v Svalöv in Division 5 Skåne Västra was as interesting as it gets. A proper local derby where Svalöv would win the league if they beat Kågeröd at Brahevallen. Kågeröd on the other hand are 4th in the table, only a point from a promotion play-off spot. I have been to Kågeröd 20-25 times playing table tennis and there was no need for a GPS to find the way to Brahevallen. In recent days the weather has been horrendous with a lot of rain but today the sun was out and I was looking forward to a well attended derby at Brahevallen. I arrived 40 minutes prior to kick-off and as the game got underway I estimated the total attendance was around 300, a fantastic number for level 7 football in Sweden. Svalöv probably had 100 supporters, many wearing yellow shirts, at Brahevallen and they of course were hoping for a win and promotion to division 4. It was 0-0 at half-time but early on in the 2nd half Kågeröd scored to make it 1-0. Svalöv did their best to score but Kågeröd defended heroically and in the 90th minute Kågeröd made it 2-0 in a counter-attack. Huge disappointment for the many away fans but Svalöv are still top of the table and can secure the title and promotion in the last round next weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Brahevallen and hopefully I can find another interesting match to attend next weekend. Entrance
