Kinna

Ground: Viskavallen

Visits: 1

Date: 2nd August 2026

Match: Kinna IF - Hittarps IK  1-2  (Division 3 Sydvästra Götaland)

Attendance: 200

With the lower leagues being on holiday, July is quite a crap month for groundhopping in Sweden. The first weekend of August meant most division 2 and 3-leagues being back in action though and my choice was to visit Viskavallen in Kinna where Kinna hosted Hittarp. From Kristianstad it takes around 3 hours by car to reach Kinna and nowadays that is where I draw the line for a day trip by car. Kick-off was at 13.00 and shortly before 9am I left home and after a break for lunch in Varberg I parked my car outside the ground 30 minutes prior to kick-off. Viskavallen was my last remaining ground in Division 3 Sydvästra Götaland and for the first time since 2023 I will have three southernmost Division 3-leagues complete. Viskavallen has a big grass bank on the south side and there is a covered main stand with benches in front of it. For level 5 in Sweden this is as good as it gets.

After taking a few photos I spotted someone I have met before. Marius is a well-known Norwegian groundhopper and being a Tromsø fan he was on his way back home from their EL-qualifier in the Czech Republic. As always it is nice to meet fellow groundhoppers and we of course had plenty to chat about during the 90 minutes. Marius actually informed me Kinna are changing from grass to an artificial pitch next season at Viskavallen. I have noticed plenty of fixtures have been moved early in the season but still a bit sad such a nice ground will have an artificial pitch. The first half was boring and the most interesting thing that happened was when the sprinkler suddenly went off and play had to be suspended!

In the 59th minute the visitors took the lead and with Kinna fighting to avoid relegation they had to go all in to find an equaliser. In the 82nd minute it was 1-1 on the scoreboard but a few minutes later Hittarp scored again, both their goals were from a corner, and it finished 1-2 at Viskavallen. Plenty of driving for me today but meeting up with Marius as well as completing a league made it worthwhile.
