Match: Kungsängen - Järfälla  1-3  (Division 2 Norra Svealand)

Attendance: 116

When I booked the trip to Stockholm I was pleased there was a possibility to do a double on Saturday. At 13.00 Kungsängen hosted Järfälla in Division 2 Norra Svealand and at 17.30 Farsta hosted Sleipner in Division 2 Södra Svealand. It is quite far from Kungsängen to Farsta but with one of the commuter train lines in Stockholm going direct from Kungsängen to Farsta it was actually quite easy to do this double. In 1989/90 I did my military service at the regiment in Kungsängen and today was actually the first time for me back in Kungsängen. As was the case many years ago I travelled by commuter train from central Stockholm to Kungsängen station, which looked completely rebuilt, before boarding a bus. Kungsängens IP was 12 minutes by bus and then around 10 minutes by foot from the station. The regiment used to be the end station of the bus route but I am not sure if that is still the case. Sitting on the bus I recognised the area and it was difficult to understand it was 33 years ago since my last visit.

Kungsämgens IP has running tracks but stands on both sides in combination with a grass pitch, this is a ground well worth a visit. Prior to kick-ogg I met with fellow groundhoppers Håkan (from Göteborg) and Stephen (West Brom fans living in Birmingham). The 130 or so spectators at Kungsängens IP had the pleasure of attending an entertaining game of football. The visitors were 2-0 up at half-time but they also had a player sent off. Kungsängen pulled a goal back in the 64th minute and were looking for the equaliser. In the closing stages Kungsämngen had two players sent off and Järfälla used the opportunity to score again. It finished 3-1 to Järfälla FC and the three groundhoppers present hurried towards the bus stop.
