LerkilGround: Ledets Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 1st September 2018 Match: Lerkil - Snöstorp Nyhem 1-3 (Division 3 Sydvästra Götaland) Attendance: 120 Kick-off at Ledets IP in Lerkil was at 4pm and with only 15 minutes driving time between my two grounds I had no problems to make it in time for kick-off. The ground is situated in the outskirts of the village and today there was actually a show-jumping competition next to the ground. Entrance was €6 and I was pleased to find out Ledets IP is a nice football ground with one proper wooden stand and a natural grass pitch. Lerkils IF was founded in 1939 and the by far most famous player in their history is Glenn Strömberg. Glenn was a key player in 1982 when IFK Göteborg won the UEFA Cup and he then moved on to Benfica and Atalanta. He played eight seasons for Atalanta and was their captain for several years. Nowadays he works as an expert commentator for Viasat. Anyway, Lerkil are third in the table at the moment and to keep up their chances of a play-off spot they needed a win against Snöstorp Nyhem. It started well for the home side and in the 19th minute it was 1-0 on the score-board. As was the case with the game at Rydets IP I attended earlier in the day the away team came out as a different team in the second half. The equalizing goal was scored from a penalty and Snöstorp Nyhem then took the lead in the 83rd minute. A few minutes from the end they once again scored from a penalty and as the final whistle it was 3-1 to the visitors. In my opinion a well-deserved win for Snöstorp Nyhem and they should now be safe. Nine goals and two new grounds for me and as I said good-bye to my friend Magnus, who joined me at both games, I could look back on a successful trip to the Onsala peninsula. Coming weekends I am playing table-tennis but hopefully my groundhopping will resume in late September.
