ListerbyGround: Åsavallen Visits: 1 Date: 31st August 2024 Match: Listerby - Rödeby 1-4 (Division 4 Blekinge) Attendance: 80 Due to illness I had to skip (live) football last weekend but I was now well enough to be back on the road. Having completed the three Division 4-leagues in Skåne I want to complete Division 4 Blekinge as well and for Saturday afternoon I had two options. The easiest option was to visit Åsavallen for Listerby v Rödeby and this was to be my choice. In glorious weather I set off for Listerby and the drive took me around 70 minutes. Once at the ground I was actually not sure which of the two pitches the match would be played on. The pitch nearest to the entrance had a small stand and I ate my lunch sitting in this stand. I then heard music being played but no-one was warming-up in front of me. Looking to my right, at the other pitch, I noticed players were out and I made the short walk to that pitch. Blekinge has a lot of really nice football grounds and the main pitch/ground Åsavallen is no exception. From the rocks on the west side of the ground you have a splendid view. While Listerby are mid-table, Rödeby are top of the table and needed to win today to keep Union (Kyrkhult) behind them. In the 1st half Rödeby were by far the better team and at half-time it was 0-2 on the score-board. In total around 80 spectators were at Åsavallen this lovely Saturday afternoon and it felt like half of them were supporting the visitors. At the break I had ice-cream and coffee and was fully enjoying being back watching football. In the 2nd half Rödeby made it 0-3 and at full-time it was 1-4. Three important points for Rödeby and being one of my three missing clubs/grounds I am looking forward to visiting them later on this season.
