Nässjö FF

Ground: Skogsvallen

Visits: 1

Date: 5th May 2018

Match: Nässjö FF - Nosaby  0-0  (Division 2 Östra Götaland)

Attendance: 330

Nässjö FF won Division 3 Nordöstra Götaland in 2017. That meant I had one new ground to visit in order to re-complete Division 2 Östra Götaland. Being in the same league as Nosaby, my local club, I decided to attend this fixture. From Kristianstad Nässjö is a 2h 40min drive and with a 1pm kick-off at Skogsvallen I had to set off earlier than usual for a domestic game. The weather was very nice and apart from the football I would also meet up with a friend of mine (Henrik) who lives in nearby Sävsjö. Skogsvallen is a sports complex in western Nässjö with an athletics ground, several football pitches as well as an indoor arena for bandy. With a very nice main stand I was for hoping the game to be played at the athletics ground but unfortunately that was not to be the case. From a “watching-football” perspective the artificial pitch is probably much better but I would still have preferred the athletics ground. As I was taking pictures a local found it interesting I had come all the way from Kristianstad and we chatted for about 30 minutes. He had been to 46 grounds in England but I could of course smilingly tell him I have been to more than 100. Anyway, after a while Henrik showed up as well and we found a good spot at the top row in one of the stands.

Nosaby and Nässjö were both promoted from Division 3 and both teams have started Division 2 in an excellent manner. In round five this was actually 2nd v 3rd but I am not sure another promotion is what the clubs are aiming for in 2018. The game at Skogsvallen was quite entertaining but also an exhibition of how to not score goals. Four times a Nosaby player was one to one with the goalkeeper but no goals. Nässjö had their chances as well but they couldn´t score either and the game ended 0-0. For a goalless game this was an entertaining as a game can be though and I was not too disappointed as I left Skogsvallen. I now have 2 of the 6 Division 2-leagues complete and in two weeks time I will hopefully re-complete Division 1 Södra. Next weekend I have promised my girlfriend/partner not to visit a football match but in two weeks time I am aiming for Siljevi and Grebbestad v Tvååker.
