With no new grounds available for me in the Swedish Cup this weekend I was at first not planning on any live football. The weather was really nice though and in the end I decided to attend the friendly between Hässleholms IF and Ariana at Österås IP Konstgräs. Normally I am not the biggest fan of friendlies at artificial pitches but with my brother living a few hundred metres from Österås I could combine my visits. Hässleholms IF and Ariana will both play in Division 1 South this season and both clubs seem to be aiming for the top. I parked my car outside the ground15 minutes or so prior to kick-off and I was surprised to see so many being there to watch this friendly. It was free entrance but I estimate around 150 were in attendance. The ground itself is 150 metres from the main ground, Österås IP, and is frequently used during the winter months for practice and friendlies.

Hässleholms IF scored early on and even though Ariana had their chances it was still 1-0 at half-time. As the second half was about to start the sun went into hiding and it was by now starting to get quite cold at Österås. I stayed the full 90 minutes but no more goals and it felt nice once back in the car!
