Having won Danmarksserien last season Sundby BK are playing in a national league (3. Division, level 4) in Denmark for the first time. Sundby BK are based at Kløvermarkens Idrætsanlæg on the island of Amager. They used to play at an artificial pitch (pitch 19) in one corner of Kløvermarken but that was not good enough for the national leagues. The first half of the season Sundby BK played at nearby Sundby Idrætspark but a new artificial pitch (pitch 18), with enough surrounding facilities, has been installed at Kløvermarken. The restart of the season was 8th March against Lyseng and when I realised Sundby BK would be back at their proper home I decided to drive to Denmark.

It was probably the nicest day of the year with the sun being out and a temperature of 13 C. As soon as I arrived in Denmark I turned right at the airport exit and a few minutes later I parked my car outside Kløvermarkens Idrætsanlæg. The new pitch is right next to the clubhouse and although there are no proper stands it is a good addition for Sundby BK and apparently good enough for this level. I estimate the attendance today was around 150 and despite the joy of being back home it was not to be a good day for Sundby BK. A red card in the 2nd half followed by a goal for the visitors meant an unexpected win for bottom of the league Lyseng.

I have now been to 7 of the 12 clubs in this league but with the missing five being in Jylland/Jutland it will be a while (if ever) before this league is complete!
