The last weekend of September was the penultimate matchday in the lower leagues in Sweden. Since I was going to Hässleholms IF v Jönköpings Södra at 4pm the obvious choice at 1pm was Tjörnarp v Norra Rörum in Division 6 Skåne Norra. Tjörnarp are 4th in the table and that could mean a promotion play-off spot. Norra Rörum had nothing to play for this afternoon but with Tjörnarp being their derby this season I was expecting a tense and interesting game at Tjörnevallen. Tjörnarp is just under 50 minutes by car and as I stepped out of my car I could feel the strong wind. The north side of Tjörnevallen was in the sun and also provided cover from the wind. Most of the around 65 spectators at Tjörnevallen decided to sit and stand in this part of the ground. When I was at the other side it felt much colder and as always it is remarkable what a difference being in the sun can make.

The first half was even and at half-time it was still goalless at Tjörnevallen. Early on in the second half Norra Rörum took the lead and from now on the match was much more open and entertaining. Tjörnarp had several really good chances to score but they couldn´t find the back of the net this afternoon. In the last minute of stoppage time Norra Rörum scored from a corner to win 2-0. Disappointment for Tjörnarp but celebrations among the away players and fans.
