Upton ParkGround: Upton Park Visits: 1 Date: 15th April 2006 Match: West Ham - Manchester C 1-0 (Premier League) Attendance: 34 305
After the long journey the day before I was glad I didn´t had to travel too far on the Saturday. Arrived at Upton Park 2 hours prior to kick-off, walked around and took some pictures, visited the museum at the ground and and walked through the turnstiles early as I wanted some pictures of the empty stands. My (paper)ticket didn´t open the turnstyle and I didn´t know what to do, people behind wondered why nothing happened but suddenly a friendly steward came and looked at my ticket and opened the turnstyle.
The match itself was, in terms of the quality of the football, not the best. West Ham scored in the first half and even though Man City had a goal disallowed for offside, couldn´t see from my position if it was correct or not and haven´t seen any TV replays yet, West Ham probably deserved their lead at half time. The second half saw a "new" Man City side and they created many good chances and scored the equaliser but yet again it was to be disallowed for offside. Man City deserved at least one point from this match and the travelling supporters must have been really gutted with the result.
