Ballerup-SkovlundeGround: Ballerup Idrætspark Visits: 1 Date: 2nd September 2023 Match: Ballerup-Skovlunde - Avedøre 2-2 (Sjællandsserien, pulje 1) Attendance: 75 Going through my options for the weekend I noticed it was possible to fo a double in the Copenhagen area. In the past I have noticed Ballerup-Skovlunde sometimes kick-off at 11am and this Saturday that was the case. At 13.30 I could then be in Allerød for my 2nd game of the day. Ballerup IF were founded in 1927 and in 1956 Skovlunde IF were founded. In 2010 the two clubs merged and the name of the new club was to be Ballerup-Skovlunde Fodbold (BSF). Ballerup is located in western Copenhagen and to reach Ballerup Idrætspark I had to go around most of the Danish capital. The traffic was not too heavy though and at 10.15 I could park my car outside the ground. Ballerup Idrætspark is surrounded by a moat making it kind of a unique ground. There is only one land bridge to enter the ground but I found it without getting lost! Once inside I was quite impressed that a club at this level (6) had such a big seated stand. As kick-off approached a 20 or so Avedøre fans showed up and in total I estimate the attendance was around 80 for this encounter in Sjællandsserien. At level 6 and below in Denmark a yellow card is punished by a 10 minute sin bin and not knowing that I was quite confused when both teams were suddenly playing with 10 players. Anyway, the visitors from Avedøre scored early on and after 22 minutes it was 0-2. I was expecting an easy three points for the visitors but in the last minute of the 1st half BSF were awarded a penalty, 1-2 at half-time. The 2nd half was even and the only goal was scored by BSF meaning it ended 2-2 at Ballerup Idrætspark. I hurried to my car and with 10 minutes to spare I made it to kick-off in Allerød.
