BjärlövGround: Bjärlövs Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 12th August 2020 Match: Bjärlöv - Kiaby 0-8 (Division 6 Skåne Nordöstra B) Attendance: 40 With clubs in the local leagues being allowed to play football in front of limited crowds (officially 50) I have been looking at interesting fixtures to attend. Bjärlöv hosted Kiaby in Division 6 Skåne Nordöstra on Wednesday evening and knowing I would have several former pupils taking part I decided to make the short, less than 15 minutes, drive to Bjärlövs IP this lovely evening. Division 6 is level 8 and in my part of Sweden that is the lowest level of the league pyramid. Bjärlöv have started with 0-5 and 3-6 and are currently bottom of the table and I was not exactly expecting a goalless game. During warm-up I noticed two former pupils of mine passing the ball between themselves and I made my way onto the pitch for a short chat. They were surprised to see me and gave me a warm welcome to Bjärlövs IP. One of them is the manager of Bjärlöv but tonight he would act as goalkeeper as well. They told me the match was moved from Saturday afternoon to Wednesday evening because yet another former pupil of mine playing for Bjärlöv was getting married. He was afraid of getting injured though and did not play tonight! I counted the number of fans at this match to 40 and as predicted we were treated with plenty of goals. At half-time it was 0-6 and as I during the break chatted with the captain of the away team, also a former pupil, I demanded at least 10 goals today. In the end it finished 0-8 and looking at the quality of the home team there are definitely room for improvements. The quality in division 6 might not be the best but at least there are plenty of goals in the games and I enjoyed my evening at Bjärlövs IP. ![]() Welcome to Bjärlövs IP Clubhouse Players entering Kick-off North side North side View of Bjärlövs IP View of play View of play East End South side South side West End Bjärlöv fans Pano |
