Bjärshögs IP KonstgräsGround: Bjärshögs IP Konstgräs Visits: 1 Date: 28th March 2026 Match: Åstorps FF - BK Astrio 2-1 (Division 2 Västra Götaland) Attendance: 150 The top three divisions start next weekend but the last weekend in March meant league football was finally to be played in Sweden again. A few years ago I visited Bjärshögs IP in Åstorp for an Åstorps FF game in Division 4. Nowadays Åstorp are in Division 2 and their opening game of the 2026 season was against BK Astrio from Halmstad. With the harsh winter in Sweden more or less every fixture in the six Division 2-leagues, the only leagues starting this weekend, take place at an artificial pitch. Åstorp was no exception and I decided Bjärshögs IP Konstgräs was to be the place for my 1st domestic league game in 2026. It was nice weather on Friday but unfortunately the forecast for Saturday said rain, wind and around 5℃. I parked my car outside the ground 35 minutes before kick-off but decided to stay in the car for as long as possible. There is no proper stand but a grass bank still made this a better ground to visit than I expected. I estimate around 150 spectators braved the conditions for this opening match and most of them were pleased to see Åstorp take an early lead. Åstorp were the better team and in the 2nd half they made it 2-0. Astrio pulled a goal back but in the end it was 2-1 to Åstorps on the score-board. There was a group of young “ultras” present and after the final whistle they set off a few smoke bombs.
