BorrbyGround: Borresvall Visits: 1 Date: 23rd April 2022 Match: Borrby - Yngsjö 1-1 (Division 5 Skåne Östra) Attendance: 40 For Saturday I had plenty of options and in the end I decided to visit Borresvall for Borrby v Yngsjö in Division 5 Skåne Östra. It is around 70 minutes by car for me to Borrby and having been there many times to play table-tennis I had no problems navigating the countryside in rural eastern Skåne. I was outside Borresvall 30 minutes prior to kick-off and I was immediately impressed with the ground. The north side has quite a big hill with several rows of benches, very nice and a bit unique. Outside the clubhouse there is a statue of Lennart “Nacka” Skoglund. He is one of Sweden´s and Hammarby´s most legendary players and in 1960 he played a friendly for Fluminense (against a local XI) at Borresvall. To commemorate this occasion a statue was erected at Borresvall in 2010. At Södermalm in Stockholm there is a more famous statue of “Nacka” Skoglund btw. Despite the nice weather only around 40 spectators turned up for this game, quite disappointing. In the first half Yngsjö had most of the possession and a few clear chances. The only goal was scored in the 44th minute but it was an own-goal by Yngsjö and at half-time it was 1-0 to Borrby. Yngsjö equalized early on in the second half and then tried their best to the winning goal. No more goals were scored though and it ended 1-1 at Borresvall. Despite the low attendance I really enjoyed my visit and this is a ground groundhoppers should definitely visit!
