DalstorpGround: Dalshov Visits: 1 Date: 3rd July 2016 Match: Dalstorp - Höganäs 2-4 (Division 2 Västra Götaland) Attendance: 225
I woke up in Kungälv, north of Gothenburg, on Sunday morning. Two live games plus Germany v Italy on TV meant I was quite tired and slept late. My breakfast was excellent and I stayed in the breakfast room for as long as it was possible. At 11.30 I finally set off and on my way home I would make a detour to Dalstorp in Västergötland for the game in Division 2 Västra Götaland between Dalstorp and Höganäs. From Kungälv it took me around 1 h 40 min to drive to Dalstorp and after a few breaks on the way I arrived at Dalshov around 13.30. Kick-off was at 15.00 so I was quite early, even by my standards, at the ground. Until 2012 Dalstorps IF, then in Division 3, played at a natural grass pitch across the road from the current ground. The new Dalshov was opened in 2012 and is for this level quite a modern ground. The pitch is artificial but with a newly built clubhouse as well as a proper stand with a kiosk etc Dalstorp have the facilitites needed to progress as a club. In August 2012 Dalstorp played Djurgården in the Swedish cup in front of 1 560 spectators, which is still the record attendance at Dalshov.
Being early I took a few pictures before eating the sandwiches I purchased. The weather was changeable this afternoon, sunshine followed by heavy rain and then sunshine again. As the game was about to kick-off the weather was nice though and in total 225 showed up for this game. Dalstorp are currently in the relegation play-off spot and needed the three points. That was not to be the case though. In a very entertaining game Höganäs twice took the lead but Dalstorp equalized as many times, 2-2 after 55 minutes. Höganäs were the better team though and scored two more goals to win the game 4-2. Disappointment for the home supporters and it will be a long and tough autumn for the club. I enjoyed my visit though and hopefully Dalstorp will avoid being relegated. Three games for me this weekend and I now only have one ground, Kabevallen in Tenhult, left to complete Division 2 Västra Götaland. Of course I haven´t attended a Assyriska BK home game either but they play at Ruddalen in Västra Frölunda and that is a ground I visited for a Frölunda game some years ago.
