EdenrydGround: Östersjövallen Visits: 1 Date: 27th June 2022 Match: Edendryd - IFK Osby 0-2 (Division 5 Skåne Nordöstra) Attendance: 45 Monday 27 June was a warm day in southern Sweden. Temperatures were reaching 28 degrees and I had a “slow” day. At 19.15 I knew there would be a game at Östersjövallen though and I decided to make the short journey to Edenryd for Edenryd v IFK Osby in Division 5 Skåne Nordöstra. The ground is only around 200 metres from the Baltic Sea (Östersjön in Swedish) and once I left my car there was a refreshing breeze. Two years ago I was at the game where Edenryd were promoted to Division 5 but in 2022 it has been quite difficult for them. They are currently 2nd from bottom and need to pick up points if they want to avoid relegation back to division 6. There is a nice entrance to Östersjövallen but there are no proper stands. With Edenryd averaging around 50 spectators at their home games the wooden benches on both sides provide more than enough “seats” though. The pitch at Östersjövallen was in a perfect condition and it must be a pleasure to play on such a fine pitch. The match at Östersjövallen was refereed by a former pupil of mine. I spoke with him before the match and wished him luck with the game. Once the game got underway it was IFK Osby who started the best. Within the first 20 minutes they went 2-0 up and that was the score at half-time. In the 2nd half Edenryd dominated and created several chances. They missed them all though and I guess there is a reason they are in the relegation zone. In the latter parts of the game the warm weather during the day started to take its toll on several players. The game ended 2-0 to the visitors from Osby and they can now enjoy the summer break with three fresh points. ![]() Entrance Badge Kick-off North End View of play West side West side South End View of play East side East side View of play |
