FlaggGround: Dalhems Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 13th August 2016 Match: Flagg - Nosaby 0-2 (Division 3 Södra Götaland) Attendance: 100
In August and September I will go to games in Denmark and Sweden. My ambition is to visit one game per weekend but with the table-tennis season coming up I am not sure I have time to go to football as well every weekend. When deciding where to go I will look at the table as well as the weather forecast. This weekend I had no problems deciding where to go though. My local team, Nosaby, are doing quite well in Division 3 Södra Götaland and with Dalhems IP being one of two grounds left for me in that division I decided to head to Malmö. Dalhems IP is situated in the Kirseberg area of Malmö and from Kristianstad I went by train to Malmö where I changed to a local bus taking me to Kirseberg. After the game I would attend a party in Dalby (outside Lund) so driving was not an option this Saturday! As I arrived the weather was cloudy but at least it was not raining. Dalhems IP is situated next to the prison in Kirseberg and for this level the ground is quite nice with no running tracks, a grass pitch and a small covered wooden stand. Several former pupils of mine are playing for Nosaby but injuries and illness meant only one of them was in the starting line-up in today´s game. Flagg were promoted to division 3 two years ago but being fourth from bottom they are now in danger of being relegated back to division 4.
As the game started it was obvious there were more people speaking with my accent than a Malmö one. I would say 2/3 of the crowd were supporting Nosaby in this game. The first half was quite entertaining with the visitors from Kristianstad playing really well. The only goal was scored from a free-kick but Nosaby should have scored at least one more goal in the first half. The second half was quite poor to be honest, Flagg tried their best to equalize but didn´t create many chances. With ten minutes ago a Flagg player was sent off and Nosaby then took complete control of the game. 0-2 was scored in the 89th minutes and in stoppage time Nosaby scored again but that goal was eventually ruled offside. Nosaby are now safe from relegation but with Wormo being ten points ahead the promotion play-off spot seems out of reach. Flagg have to fight for survival but most likely the club will end up in the relegation play-offs.
