HittarpGround: Laröds Idrottplats Visits: 1 Date: 28th May 2016 Match: Hittarp - Kungsbacka 5-0 (Division 3 Sydvästra Götaland) Attendance: 100
For the second weekend in a row it was possible to do a double in Division 3. This time around it was in Division 3 Sydvästra Götaland and first up was Hittarp vs Kungsbacka at noon. Hittarp play their home games in Laröd and from Kristianstad, where I live, it takes around 80 minutes by car to reach Laröds IP. Laröd and Hittarp are two neighbouring villages but when the club was founded (1959) both villages were called Hittarp. I knew it would be free entrance for this game and as I arrive at the ground, around 11.15, Laröds IP was full of activities like youth games etc. The ground itself is quite basic with only one proper stand, in the west side of the ground. No running tracks though and the grass pitch looked like a golf green. The record attendance at Laröds IP is 2 117, from 1987 when neighbouring giants Helsingborgs IF played Hittarp in the old Division 2 (level 3 at the time). I took a few pictures before buying a cup of coffee. For today´s double I was joined be ny friends from Gothenburg, Christian and Magnus, and we watched the first half from the West Stand. It was a very nice day with 22°C and this sunny Saturday turned out to be a good day for Hittarps IK.
Mattias Hallberg scored three goals in the first half for Hittarp and the announcer nick-named him Mattigoal. Kungsbacka did their best in the second half but failed to score. Hittarp on the other hand scored two goals in the second half and won the game 5-0. Before this game Hittarp were second in the table and going by their performance today they will finish in the top of the table. 17 points, one behind leaders Älvsborg, after seven games and an interesting season ahead for Hittarps IK. For the three groundhoppers present this was a good start to the day and after the final whistle we then made the 30 minute drive to Vejby Idrottsplats. Kick-off in the second game of the day was at 3pm meaning no rush though.
