HusumGround: Husumparken Visits: 1 Date: 22nd August 2020 Match: Husum BK - BK Union 0-2 (Danmarksserien, pulje 1) Attendance: 250 The main reason for going to Denmark today was of course I had the chance of attending two matches. Last weekend Husum BK played their first ever match in Danmarksserien (level 4) meaning the match this afternoon against BK Union was their first ever home game at this level. Kick-off was at 14.15 and with the match at Glostrup (KO 12.00) ending 13.47 I made kick-off with 5 minutes to spare. Husum BK plays at Husumparken and although there are no proper stands the grass hill on the south side gives you a good view of the pitch. The ground is situated in a park and as I arrived I was surprised to find out there was no fence around the pitch and you could freely enter the ground from every direction. I was also surprised so many spectators were present but this was obviously a very big match for Husum. As the players and officials entered a few fireworks were set off making it a worthy first home match for Husum BK in Danmarksserien. Union Red Army was also present and created a decent atmosphere for a match at this level. Although Husum BK had their chances to score BK Union was the better team and as the final whistle was blown the visitors could celebrate their first victory of the 2020/21 season, 0-2 also means back to back defeats for Husum. Being able to visit two new grounds this afternoon I was quite pleased as I left Denmark and returned home to Sweden. Unless the bridge is closed I plan to be back in two weeks time when both Holbæk and Roskilde KFUM are at home in 2. Division.
