JägersborgGround: Jägersborgs Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 24th August 2023 Match: Jägersborg - Wisseltofta 2-5 (Division 6 Skåne Norra) Attendance: 130 Most (90 %?) of the lower league clubs in Sweden don´t have floodlights at their ground. With the sun setting earlier and earlier the chance of attending a midweek fixture is almost gone but this week there were still a few possibilities. At 18.30 on Thursday evening Jägersborgs IF were hosting Wisseltofta IF at Jägersborgs IP and knowing the weather would be nice I realised this local derby would have a good attendance. After merging with Verums GoIF the official name of the home club is actually Jägersborgs IF/Verums GoIF but when games are played at Jägersborgs IP the club play in the Jägersborg kit and refer to themselves as Jägersborgs IF. I guess the opposite applies when playing in Verum. Anyway, I arrived at the ground 20 minutes prior to kick-off and I had problems finding somewhere to park. In the end I had to reverse and eventually I parked my car on the road a few hundred metres from the pitch. Jägersborg are mid-table but with rivals Wisseltofta being 2nd in the table, plenty of fans had made the short journey to Jägersborg this evening. Jägersborg is a hamlet with only a few houses but the ground is really nice. I counted around 130 spectators and for a game at this level at a small place like Jägersborg that is an outstanding number. Wisseltofta made it 2-0 early on and I was expecting a rout but instead it was suddenly 2-2. With the visitors clearly being the better side it was not a surprise they scored a few goals in the 2nd half though. In the end the score-board said 2-5 and Wisseltofta, at least temporarily, are top of the table. I really enjoyed my visit to Jägersborgs IP and it is a ground well worth a visit.
