KlippanGround: Åbyvallen Visits: 1 Date: 3rd September 2016 Match: Klippans Förenade FF - Kågeröd 1-3 (Division 3 Sydvästra Götaland) Attendance: 200
Last weekend I completed Division 3 Södra Götaland but in the top five divisions in Sweden there are still two clubs left for me to visit in Skåne, the most southern county in Sweden. Those two clubs, Klippan and Kågeröd, actually played each other the first Saturday in September. With Klippan being on the Hässleholm-Helsingborg railway line I decided to use public transport to this game. At 13.02 my train left Kristianstad and after changing trains in Hässleholm I arrived in Klippan 14.01. The walk to Åbyvallen, the home of Klippans Förenade FF, then took 15-20 minutes. The ground is basic with only one proper stands and running tracks but at least the pitch was not artificial. The only stand is an old wooden stand and looks nice. For a club like Klippan I guess there is no need to build another stand. Klippans Förenade Fotbollförening were formed in 2004 following the merger between Klippans BI and Forsby IF. The club have been going up and down between division 3 and 4 and after gaining promotion at the end of last season Klippan are playing the 2016 in Division 3. Before the match today the club were third from bottom meaning they have to win a few games to avoid being relegated.
Kågeröd need a few more points themselves to avoid the relegation play-offs and the visitors started the game the better team. In the 6th minute Kågeröd scored but 20 minutes later Klippan equalized and at half-time the score was 1-1. One of Kågeröd´s strikers have scored 22 games in 17 league games this year and in the 47th minute Niklas Nielsen scored again to make it 1-2. Klippan tried their best to find another equalizer but in the 82nd minute Kågeröd scored their thrid goal of the afternoon to win 3-1. I have been to Kågeröd many times in my life playing table-tennis and know there is a good support for the local sport teams. In today´s game around a third of the crowd supported the away team and in Division 3 that is a very good away following. The Kågeröd fans left the ground knowing their team are more or less safe from relegation. At 17.50 my train left Klippan and an hour later I was back home. ![]() Åbyvallen, entrance
