Lessebo GoIFGround: Lessebo Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 7th September 2024 Match: Lessebo GoIF - Nybro IF 0-1 (Division 4 Småland Södra) Attendance: 100 On Friday evening I drove my girlfriend to Copenhagen airport for her first ever flight. She will be one week in Riga meaning I could plan my groundhopping weekend without any other commitments. I decided to do a double in southern Småland on Saturday and first up was a visit to Lessebo IP for Lessebo GoIF v Nybro IF in Division 4. It was 3rd v 4th and with 1st playing 2nd at the same time it was an important matchday in this league. The top team is promoted to division 3 while the runner-up end up in the play-offs. With the ongoing road works it took me 1h 35 min to drive to Lessebo and once I left my car I realised it would be a very warm day. The temperature would reach 27 ℃ and that is really not my kind of favourite temperature! Anyway, Lessebo IP has a very nice wooden main stand from 1939 making this yet another great ground in this part of Sweden. I estimated around 100 spectators were at Lessebo IP for this crucial game but the official attendance was given as 150. Not sure how they count people in Lessebo but I doubt the attendance was that high. It was 0-0 at half-time and in the 2nd half both teams tried their best to find a winner. From a counter-attack Nybro made it 0-1 and despite numerous chances for Lessebo that was to be the final score. The Nybro goalkeeper was treated for an injury for about 5 minutes but to everyone's surprise the referee blew his whistle without adding any minutes of stoppage time. Very strange at least that made sure I had a few extra minutes to get something to eat before heading to Kosta and my 2nd match of the day! ![]() Welcome Entrance East Stand East Stand Dug-out Players entering Kick-off View of play South End West side West side North End View of play East side East side East Stand View of play |
