Division 2 Södra Götaland is the southernmost of the six leagues at level four in Sweden. Having been to every ground in the feeder leagues I will always have the league complete. At least I thought so but with Lilla Torg being promoted to Division 2 and Mariedals IP not being allowed to host level four football I suddenly had an unexpected new ground to visit. Since 2011 Hästhagens IP, just across the street from Mariedals IP, has been used for athletics and American football only but Lilla Torg will play the 2026 season at his ground. Hästahagens IP is a proper ground with a big covered main stand and a small open terrace on the far side. The ground is only around 15 minutes by foot from the Malmö Triangeln train station and for once I decided to go by train to a domestic game. Kick-off between Lilla Torg and Växjö Norra was 13.00 and 11.40 my train arrived in Malmö. As I made my way to the ground I passed Malmö IP and today it was actually possible to do a double since Rosengård hosted Tvååker in Division 1 South at 16.00. Anyway, I took a few exterior pictures of Hästhagens IP and then found somewhere to eat and drink.

My friend Gijs showed up shortly before kick-off and as usual it was nice to have someone to chat with during the game. With Lilla Torg being second from bottom and Växjö Norra top of the table I expected an easy win for the visitors. Växjö Norra made it 0-1 in the 15th minute but at half-time it was 1-1. Both teams then had a few chances to score the winner but it ended 1-1 at Hästhagens IP.
