LunnarpGround: Lunnarps Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 28th August 2022 Match: Lunnarp - Åhus Horna 4-3 (Division 4 Skåne Östra) Attendance: 75 I was planning to complete Division 4 Skåne Östra with a visit to Lunnarps IP for Lunnarp v Åhus Horna on Sunday afternoon. On Friday the weather forecast said heavy rain all day in Lunnarp and I decided to skip this fixture. The weather forecast changed though and as I looked on Sunday morning it was actually going to be quite nice weather in Lunnarp. This meant I changed my mind again and at 15.30, 30 minutes prior to kick-off, I parked my car outside the ground. Lunnarp is around an hour by car south of Kristianstad and has a population of 350. I guess most players are recruited from nearby Tomelilla but still a good achievement for a club like Lunnarp to play in Division 4. Åhus Horna are currently in the relegation zone and with Lunnarp being in the bottom half this is a game Åhus Horna had every chance to win. The referee in today's match was one of my former pupils and I had a few former pupils playing for Åhus Horna as well. As soon as the referee blew his whistle the visitors from Åhus went on attack and at half-time they were comfortably 2-0 up. Early on in the 2nd half it was 0-3 and most of the around 80 spectators were convinced Åhus Horna would win this tie. In the 76th minute Lunnarp pulled a goal back, 1-3. What followed in the last 15 minutes can only be described as a mental collapse combined with some horrendous defending by Åhus Horna. In the 89th minute it culminated when Lunnarp scored to win 4-3. I think this is the first time I have seen a team being 3-0 up losing the encounter. The Lunnarp players celebrated and the visitors should book an appointment with a sports psychologist! ![]() Entrance Badge North side East End West End Kick-off South side South side View of play North side North side North side Lunnarps IP, vy |
