MörrumGround: Laxvallen Visits: 1 Date: 28th June 2023 Match: Mörrum - AIK Atlas 3-0 (Division 5 Blekinge) Attendance: 60 June, the best month for groundhopping in Sweden, is coming to an end. With few exceptions the lower leagues have a break in July and wanting one more domestic game before the break I decided to visit Mörrum. Mörrum is mostly famous for salmon fishing (lax is Swedish for salmon) and on the way to the ground I stopped by Mörrumsån to have a look at the famous creek. The local football ground is called Laxvallen and as I parked my car I noticed Laxvallen is yet another ground with a nice wooden main stand. As there was a risk of heavy rain I was pleased the main stand had a roof! This evening Mörrums GoIS were hosting AIK Atlas in Division 5 Blekinge and with it being 4th v 3rd in the last game before the break it was an important game for both teams. Mörrums GoIS have a table tennis team as well by the way and I have played against them a few times in recent years. During the game tonight I actually met and chatted with one of the local table tennis players. Anyway, on the pitch Mörrum were by far the better team and deservedly won 3-0. Since the visitors were higher up in the table it was actually a bit surprising to see Mörrum win so easily. Being only 40 minutes away I was home before 9.30 and with the rain staying away I was more than pleased with my visit to Laxvallen! ![]() Mörrumsån Mörrums GoIS Entrance North side North Stand North Stand North Stand East End South Stand South Stand West End Players and officials entering Kick-off ![]() North side ![]() North side View of play View of play View of play |
