NœsbyGround: ALPI Arena Visits: 1 Date: 4th June 2022 Match: Næsby - Roskilde 1-2 (3. Division) Attendance: 222 Having been to Middelfart v Kolding the previous day I spent the night in Middelfart. At 14.00 on Saturday afternoon Næsby BK hosted FC Roskilde at ALPI Arena (Næsby Stadion) in 3. Division and on my way home to Sweden I was going to make a stop in the Odense suburb of Kirkendrup. Kirkendrup is just under an hour from Middelfart and as I had to check-out at 11am I parked my car at ALPI Arena with two hours to spare until kick-off. Luckily there was a women's game at the adjacent pitch to keep me busy. ALPI Arena is a basic ground without any proper stands but the attendances are pretty low so no need to make any major investments. In recent years Næsby has been playing at levels 3 & 4 and the game this afternoon was the last home game of the season in 3. Division, promotion group. As was the case yesterday, the weather was glorious in Kirkendrup this afternoon. Most of the 222 present were sitting and standing on the west side of the ground. I managed to find a bench, giving me a good view and a “seat” not directly in the sun. FC Roskilde has already secured promotion to 2. Division but it was Næsby who scored the opening goal, 1-0 at half-time. In the 2nd half FC Roskilde were the better team and scored twice to win 2-1. From Næsby Stadion it was then 3 hours in the car for me until I was back home. It was a nice weekend in Denmark and in 3. Division, level 4 in Denmark, I am now missing only one ground (Lyseng). When the 2022/23 season commences in August it will, due to clubs being promoted from Danmarksserien, be four missing grounds though. Welcome!
