ÖdåkraGround: Toftavallen Visits: 1 Date: 5th September 2026 Match: Ödåkra IF - Billesholms GIF 2-3 (Division 5 Skåne Nordvästra) Attendance: 100 In recent weeks I have been lucky to find several top of table clashes and this week was no exception. In Division 5 Skåne Nordvästra Ödåkra are top with Billesholm in 2nd place, six points behind the leaders. In round 18 (of 22) the top clubs faced each other at Toftavallen and as I set off for the 90-minute drive to Ödåkra, just outside Helsingborg, I was hoping for an exciting game and a good attendance. Yesterday there was a lot of rain in Skåne but the forecast for Saturday afternoon was more promising. Toftavallen has a grass pitch and no running tracks but upon entering I was still a bit disappointed. The ground is very basic and there were not even benches to sit on along the sides. The clubhouse with its café was nice though and as the rain stayed away I guess I shouldn´t complain too much. I counted around 100 spectators and several of those supported the visitors. Being six points behind Billesholm really needed to win today and in the 22nd minutes the took the lead, Early in the 2nd half Billesholm made it 2-0 from the penalty spot but this game was far from over. In the 67th minute Ödåkra were awarded a penalty kick and it ended up hitting the underside of the bar, bounced off the ground before it was headed in. The away players immediately reacted and reminded the referee that such a goal won´t count since the same player can´t touch the ball twice in a row. I could hear the referee say “no goal” but then he went to the assistant referee and after a lengthy discussion it was ruled the ball crossed the line after hitting the crossbar and the goal was eventually given. Since the assistant referee never raised his flag emotions were running high but it was 1-2 on the scoreboard. A few minutes later an Ödåkra player was one on one with the goalkeeper and was fouled. It was clearly outside the penalty area but somehow it was given as a penalty which was scored, 2-2. Emotions were by now even higher but in the 80th minute Billesholm scored to win 3-2 at Toftavallen. Justice was served and it will be interesting to see who will win this league.
