IFK Göteborg, GAIS and Örgryte normally play their matches at Gamla Ullevi but when that ground was being completely rebuilt IFK and GAIS played the 2007 and 2008 seasons at nearby Ullevi. Ullevi hosted the Euro 92 final between Denmark and Germany as well as the 1958 World Cup semifinal between Sweden and Germany. Apart from some Sweden matches the stadium is mostly used for concerts and Ullevi seem to be a regular stop for most bands touring Europe. Report (IFK Göteborg - FC Basel): In the 80s and early 90s IFK Göteborg were a major force in European football, winning the UEFA Cup in 1982 and 1987 and had several good runs in the European Cup/Champions league. After 11 years IFK finally managed to retain the league title last season and after knocking out S.S Murata (San Marino) in the 1st qualifying round FC Basel waited in todays 2nd round. Being at nearby Valhalla to watch Örgryte-Jönköping earlier this was my second match of the evening. With the grounds only being a 5 minute walk apart I didn´t have to miss any of the action, though! IFK Göteborg fielded a young side, including both a 16 and a 17-year old. Basel scored the first goal but IFK deservedly equalised before the entertaining first half was over. The second half was quite dull and Basel is probably quite happy with the final score, 1-1
