Date: 20th September 2009 Match: Qviding - Sirius 0-0 (Superettan) Attendance: 231
Valhalla, with a capacity of around 4,000, was previously mainly used for women´s football but when Örgryte was relegated from Allsvenskan in 2006 (and Gamla Ullevi was to be rebuilt) they decided to move to the smaller Valhalla ground. Valhalla is close to both Gamla Ullevi and Ullevi and is used by Division 1 club Qviding, until their new ground in Härlanda is ready, as well.
Report (Örgryte - Jönköping Södra): After more than 10 years abroad this was the first match since the return back home to Sweden. The player I am talking about is of course Marcus Allbäck, Mr Örgryte with 74 caps and 30 goals for Sweden. His father, former chairman of Örgryte, registered him as a member minutes after his birth and even if Örgryte nowdays only play in Superettan there was only one club for Allbäck to play for upon his return. Valhalla was sold-out for the first time (4 060) and after less then a minute Örgryte was a goal up. Everyone was expecting more goals from the home team, Jönköping are third from bottom, but despite having some decent chances Örgryte failed to score again. It was obvious Marcus Allbäck lacked match tempo and he was eventually substituted in the 65th minute, I am sure he will be better and better the more games he plays. The visitors showed an amazing ineffectivity in front of goal and I can understand why they are in the relegation battle.
