WäGround: Wä Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 25th May 2022 Match: Wä - Tollarp 1-1 (Division 5 Skåne Östra) Attendance: 75 One of my goals in 2022 is to visit every ground/(“idrottsplats”) in Kristianstad kommun. I have three left and on Wednesday evening it was time to visit Wä IP for Wä v Tollarp in Division 5 Skåne Östra. The women's team of Wä IF played in Allsvenskan 1990-1994 but later moved to Kristianstad and was renamed Kristianstad DFF. Wä IF has since then started a new women's team. The men's team play in Division 5 Skåne Östra and with most teams in that league coming a little further afield I was pleased to be able to visit the derby against Tollarp. Wä IP is only 15 minutes by car for me and 20 minutes prior to kick-off I parked my car outside the ground. There had been a few rain showers but it was sunny in Vä and I decided to leave my umbrella in the car. In their opening seven games Wä have lost five and drawn two. I was expecting Tollarp to win quite easily tonight but that was not to be the case. As is often the case when I go to local games, pupils of mine, current and/or former, are featuring and tonight was no exception. One of them hit the post and the rebound was put back into the back of the net, 1-0 to Wä at half-time. In the second half it started to rain and I was angry at myself for leaving the umbrella in the car. Tollarp had more of the possession and the equaliser was eventually scored. 1-1 was to be the final score and in my opinion that was a fair result in this game. ![]() Welcome to Wä IP Kick-off North End View of play East side East side East side View of play West Stand West Stand West Stand View of play |
