WisseltoftaGround: Åvallen Visits: 1 Date: 1st June 2024 Match: Wisseltofta - IFK Osby 0-2 (Division 5 Skåne Nordöstra) Attendance: 400 When Wisseltofta were promoted to division 5 at the end of last season it meant I was missing one ground in Division 5 Skåne Nordöstra. Knowing the derby against IFK Osby would be the biggest game of the season I saved my visit until this weekend. Having not played against each other for a few years, being 12 km apart and the weather forecast saying lovely weather, I was really looking forward to my visit. As I arrived some 50 minutes prior to kick-off there were already plenty of cars in the car park and at the entrance I was told “it will be chaos here today”. Normally I don´t arrive this early for level 7 football but today was obviously an exception. Åvallen in Visseltofta is named after the nearby creek Helge å and I have to say it is a really nice “idrottsplats”. On the west side there is a grass bank with a few seats and from the top of that grass bank the view was really good. As I said earlier the weather was nice but with a temperature of 27-28 degrees it was almost too nice. I decided to spend most of the game behind the goal in the south end where big trees protected me from the sun. The official attendance was given as 400 and for a match at level 7 in Sweden that is a fantastic number. It was goalless at half-time but in the 2nd half the visitors from Osby scored twice to win 2-0. Matches like the one today at Åvallen are among the most interesting you can visit and I enjoyed my visit.
