In May 2015 Gefle moved to Gavlevallen
In 1903 Strömdalens IP was opened next to Gavleån in Gävle. The capacity back then was only 400 but in the coming years the ground was rebuilt and in 1915 the Swedish athletics championships were held at Strömdalens IP. Between 1920 and 1923 the ground was modermized and when it re-opened in 1923 the ground was give a new name, Strömvallen. The ground was used for athletics, speed-skating, bandy and football. In the 1940s Gunder Hägg, widely regarded as Sweden´s greatest ever runner, competed here many times and the all-time attendance record at Strömvallen (9 333) is from an athletics meeting in 1942. When Gavlestadion opened in 1984 the running tracks were removed at Strömvallen and the ground was from now on a proper football stadium. Gefle IF played at Strömvallen from 1923 until 30 April 2015 when Gefle hosted IFK Göteborg in the last ever match at the ground. In recent years the capacity of Strömvallen was 7 000 but with Gävle being an ice-hockey town football will never be the number one sport here.
